Student Affairs IT conducts regular workstation maintenance to ensure that our information technology environment remains stable and secure. Automated maintenance occurs every Monday morning at 2:00 a.m. This process may log you off your machine without warning. In order to avoid losing any work, please make sure you are logged off your machine before the 2:00 a.m. maintenance time.
Our maintenance work occasionally requires a technician to remotely log into a computer to complete tasks. When this happens you will notice that there is a different NetID in the username box on your computer. The account that we use to conduct this work will end in either "admin" or "local."
The Student Affairs IT staff members do not have access to any of your files or other systems while they are conducting this work nor have they been in your office. Student Affairs IT staff will not log you off your computer -- we will only work on your computer when you are not using it. Student Affairs IT will always ask before we manually log anyone off.
